Terms &
Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before entering any competition or using the Fair Game platform. By registering or purchasing tickets you agree to these terms in full.

Last updated: 27 July 2026
Summary: Fair Game runs competitions open to UK residents aged 18+, operated as lawful free prize draws. Every competition has a free postal entry route on identical terms to paid entry — the same maximum entries per person and an identical chance of winning for every ticket. All draws are fully transparent and conducted live, and Fair Game is committed to supporting small local Northern Ireland charities. Because a genuinely free entry route is always equally available to everyone, these are free prize draws, not lotteries.
Section 01

About Us

Fair Game is a trading name of FGCD Ltd ("we", "us", "our", "Fair Game"), a company registered in Northern Ireland. Company registration number: NI741782. We operate the Fair Game competition platform at www.fairgamecompetitions.co.uk.

Registered address: 173 Avoniel Road, Belfast, BT5 4SG.
Contact email: hello@fairgamecompetitions.co.uk

By creating an account, entering a competition, or using our website, you agree to these terms in full. These terms apply alongside any competition-specific rules published on individual competition pages. Competition-specific rules prevail only to the extent that they add detail (for example the prize, ticket cap, price, closing date, or per-person maximum for that competition) — they can never remove or reduce your rights under these terms, restrict the free postal entry route, or reduce the consumer protections in these terms.

Section 02

Eligibility

To enter any Fair Game competition you must:

  • Be a UK resident (England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland) at the time of entry
  • Be aged 18 or over at the time of entry
  • Hold only one Fair Game account in your own name
  • Not be an employee, director, contractor, agent, or immediate family member of FGCD Ltd or any company involved in the administration of the competition
  • Not be subject to a current self-exclusion from our platform
  • Provide truthful and accurate personal information at the time of registration and entry

We reserve the right to verify eligibility at any time, including requesting proof of identity, age, address, and residency. Ineligible entries are void and any associated prizes are forfeited. We may ask that a winner sign a declaration of eligibility and compliance before releasing a prize.

Under 18s: Our competitions are strictly for adults. We collect and check your date of birth at registration, and we verify age and identity again before any prize is released. We may also require documentary or electronic identity and age verification at any other time, including before a first payment is accepted, and will suspend any account that fails verification. Entries by persons under 18 are void.

Section 03

How to Enter

Competitions can be entered online (paid) or by free post. The two routes are treated identically: each valid postal entry receives one ticket, exactly like each paid entry, from the same ticket range, and every ticket carries an identical chance of winning whichever route it came from (see Section 5). No purchase is necessary.

Online entry steps:

  1. Create a free Fair Game account (one per person)
  2. Select a live competition
  3. Select the number of tickets you wish to purchase (up to the per-person maximum shown)
  4. Top up your Fair Game wallet securely via Stripe, then pay for your entries from your wallet balance (and any site credit)
  5. Your unique ticket number(s) are issued immediately by email and visible in My Account

Entries are only confirmed once payment is successfully processed and a ticket number has been issued. Each competition has a stated total ticket cap and maximum tickets per person — these figures protect the odds for all entrants and are shown prominently on each competition page.

All entry closing times are stated on each competition page and are given in UK local time (GMT/BST). Entries received after the stated closing time are void.

Section 04

Free Entry & Legal Basis

These are free prize draws, not lotteries. Every Fair Game competition offers a free postal entry route on identical terms to paid entry (see Section 5). Because participation is genuinely available without payment, our competitions are lawful free prize draws rather than lotteries. In Great Britain they are conducted in accordance with Schedule 2 of the Gambling Act 2005, which recognises arrangements offering a free and equally available entry route; in Northern Ireland they are conducted in accordance with the Betting, Gaming, Lotteries and Amusements (Northern Ireland) Order 1985 as amended by the Betting, Gaming, Lotteries and Amusements (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2022, including the free draw conditions in Schedule 15A to that Order. No gambling licence is required or held. Our competitions involve no skill element — they are free draws, and we describe them as such.

Paid online entry is offered purely as a convenient alternative to the free postal route. The system for allocating prizes does not differentiate in any way between paid and postal entries: both routes feed the same draw, receive ticket numbers from the same range allocated by the same method, are subject to the same per-person maximum, and every ticket has exactly the same chance of winning.

The free entry route is publicised in these terms, on the website, and on every competition page. Postal entries are never treated less favourably than paid entries — see Section 5 for full instructions.

Fair Game retains records of entries and draw methodology for a minimum of 12 months after each draw closes. This documentation is available to relevant authorities upon request.

Section 05

Free Postal Entry

No purchase necessary. You may enter any competition free of charge by post. Each valid postal entry receives one ticket — exactly the same as one paid entry — and every ticket has an identical chance of winning to any paid ticket.

You must hold a Fair Game account before entering by post. Creating an account is completely free at www.fairgamecompetitions.co.uk — exactly the same requirement that applies to paid entries. Your account is how we verify your age and eligibility, issue your ticket numbers, and contact you if you win. Postal entries from people without an account, or whose details do not match their account, will be void.

Send a letter by ordinary post, in a sealed envelope, containing the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Your full home address including postcode
  • Your date of birth
  • Your email address — this must match the email address on your Fair Game account
  • The competition name you are entering

Send to: Fair Game Competitions, 173 Avoniel Road, Belfast, BT5 4SG

Postal entries must be received by the date and time stated on the competition page. Each valid postal entry receives one ticket into the named competition. You may enter by post up to the same per-person maximum that applies to paid entries for that competition — each postal entry must be sent as a separate letter in its own sealed envelope, posted separately (one entry per envelope). Where one envelope contains multiple entries, it will be treated as a single entry. Entries that are illegible or missing required information will be void. Fair Game accepts no responsibility for postal entries lost, delayed, or damaged in transit, and cannot return postal entries.

A few practical points on posting: use a current barcoded stamp — Royal Mail no longer accepts the old-style stamps, and underpaid or invalidly stamped mail may never reach us. Postal entries must arrive through the postal system; entries delivered by hand are not valid. An online sell-out does not close the free route early: if all paid tickets are allocated before the closing date, valid postal entries received up to the closing date are still accepted and entered into the draw. We are unable to confirm receipt of individual postal entries before the draw.

Your ticket number will be emailed to your registered address and added to your Fair Game account within 5 working days of receipt of a valid postal entry. Whatever the date of that confirmation email, ticket numbers for all valid postal entries received by the closing date are allocated before the draw takes place — a timely postal entry is never left out of a draw because its confirmation email had not yet been sent.

Accessibility. If a disability or health condition makes entering by post difficult for you, contact us at hello@fairgamecompetitions.co.uk and we will arrange a reasonable alternative free entry method.

Section 06

Ticket Prices & Payment

Ticket prices are displayed in GBP (£) inclusive of any applicable VAT on each competition page. Competition entries are paid for from your Fair Game wallet and/or promotional site credit (see Section 23). Wallet top-ups are processed by our payment provider, an FCA-authorised payment services provider operating to PCI DSS standards. Card details are entered directly with that provider — Fair Game never sees, stores, or has access to your full card details.

Debit cards only. We accept debit card payments only — credit cards cannot be used anywhere on Fair Game. This is a deliberate responsible-play measure: you can only ever play with money you have.

Prices displayed are final at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change ticket prices for future competitions at any time, but any change will not affect entries already confirmed and paid for.

Obvious errors. Where a ticket price or prize description on the website is affected by an obvious error — for example a misplaced decimal point, or a prize specification that is clearly wrong — we may, at any time before the draw, cancel entries affected by the error and refund in full everything paid for them. We will contact affected entrants and, where the competition remains open, give them the option to re-enter at the correct price.

If a payment is declined or your order is not completed for any technical reason, no entry will be created and no ticket issued. Please contact us if you believe you have been charged without receiving a ticket number.

If something looks wrong with a payment, tell us first. Contact us at hello@fairgamecompetitions.co.uk and we will investigate and put right anything that is our error, including issuing a refund where one is due. Raising a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank before contacting us makes it harder and slower for us to resolve, and we may suspend account activity while a disputed payment is investigated. Any entry paid for by a payment that is later reversed or charged back is void (see Section 9). Nothing in this paragraph affects your legal right to dispute a payment with your bank.

Section 07

The Draw

The draw takes place on the advertised date and time regardless of whether all available tickets have been sold. The prize is always awarded.

Winners are selected live on camera using a widely available public random number generator (currently Google's), set to the competition's full ticket range and operated in full view of the audience — viewers see the winning number produced in real time rather than being told the result afterwards. The entry list is closed and fixed before the draw begins — once every valid postal entry received by the closing date has been allocated its ticket number, no entries can be added — and the entry list published after the draw lets every entrant check their own ticket numbers against the result.

Every valid ticket has an equal chance of winning. Where the generated number corresponds to a ticket that was not sold, the generator is simply run again on camera until it lands on a sold ticket — no ticket is ever excluded, weighted, or given a second entry as a result.

Only valid entries take part: tickets attached to refunded, cancelled or incomplete orders are not eligible to win. Free postal entries and paid entries are drawn from exactly the same pool.

Draws are conducted live on Fair Game's social media channels. After every draw, the following are published on the Fair Game website:

  • The winner's first name, last name initial, general location (county/city), and ticket number — unless the winner has asked to be identified by ticket number only (see Section 9)
  • A full entry list of ticket numbers, so anyone can verify the draw was genuinely random — entrants' names are not published in this list
  • Every draw is streamed live on our social media channels, where the recording remains available to watch

Fair Game may reschedule a draw only in genuinely exceptional circumstances outside our control — technical failure, force majeure, or regulatory requirement. We never extend or delay a draw because of ticket sales. All entrants will be notified by email of any change, and entries will remain valid for the rescheduled date.

Draws are administered by FGCD Ltd. Results stand once eligibility is verified. If you believe something went wrong with a draw, you can raise it through the complaints process in Section 20 — nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.

Section 08

Prizes

The prize for each competition is described on the relevant competition page, together with the basis of any stated prize value. Where a cash alternative is offered, the amount of the cash alternative is stated on the competition page, and the winner may elect to receive it instead within 14 days of winner notification.

Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for any alternative not stated on the competition page. Physical prizes are delivered to a UK address within 28 days of identity verification. Cash prizes are paid to a UK bank account within 5 working days of verification.

Fair Game reserves the right to substitute a prize with one of equal or greater value if the original prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond our control. Fair Game will notify the winner of any substitution prior to prize delivery. Product images on competition pages are for illustration purposes only; actual prize specifications (colour, model year, accessories) may vary from those depicted.

Prize condition. Prizes are supplied in the condition described on the competition page. For new physical prizes, the benefit of any manufacturer's warranty passes to the winner on delivery. If a prize arrives damaged, faulty, or materially different from its description, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we will arrange repair, replacement, or an equivalent remedy with the supplier at no cost to the winner.

Winners are solely responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or charges arising from receipt of a prize. Fair Game recommends seeking independent tax advice if you are unsure of your obligations. In the UK, most competition prizes are not subject to income tax, but specific circumstances may vary.

Each prize remains the property of FGCD Ltd until it has been handed over to, delivered to, or (for cash prizes) received by the verified winner. Until that point, the winner has no legal interest in the prize itself — only the right to receive it under these terms.

Instant wins: some competitions include designated instant win ticket numbers, hidden at random within the competition's ticket range. Instant win positions are fixed in our systems before the competition opens for entries and cannot be added, moved, or removed once entries are on sale. Ticket numbers are allocated to entries at random by our system from the competition's remaining ticket range — neither entrants nor Fair Game staff choose which numbers an entry receives. An instant win number that is never allocated to any entry is simply not won: the associated prize is not awarded and does not roll over to another competition. If one of your assigned ticket numbers matches an instant win number, you win the associated prize and will be shown the win at the time of purchase and in My Account. Instant win prizes are either site credit or a physical prize, as stated on the competition page. All instant wins are subject to verification by Fair Game: site credit prizes are added to your account balance once verified, normally within 2 working days, and are then subject to Section 23 (site credit is promotional, has no cash value, and cannot be withdrawn); physical prizes are verified and delivered in accordance with this Section 8 and Section 9. Unless stated otherwise on the competition page, an instant-winning ticket also remains in the main draw.

Holiday and travel prizes. Where a competition prize is a holiday or trip, the following applies in addition to the rest of this section. The stated value of the prize is the maximum we will pay towards it.

How the prize is provided. Unless the competition page says otherwise, a holiday prize is delivered in one of the following ways, at Fair Game's option and in discussion with the winner:

  • A travel voucher or credit to the stated value, issued with a recognised travel operator, which the winner redeems by making their own booking; or
  • A cash-equivalent payment to the stated value, paid to a UK bank account in the winner's name, for the winner to arrange their own trip; or
  • A booking arranged together with the winner, up to the stated value, where Fair Game pays the travel provider directly. Any such booking is made with a single ATOL- or ABTA-protected travel provider, in the winner's name — Fair Game never itself combines travel services from separate providers.

Where a booking is arranged with the winner, the booking is made in the winner's name with the travel provider, and the contract for the travel services is between the winner and that provider — Fair Game acts only as the payer of the prize amount and is not the organiser or retailer of any travel package. The winner receives the provider's own booking confirmation and benefits from that provider's financial protection (for example ATOL or ABTA) where it applies.

What is not included. Unless expressly stated on the competition page, a holiday prize does not include: travel insurance; passports, visas, ESTAs or any entry permits and the cost of obtaining them; travel to and from the UK departure point; airport parking; excess baggage; meals, drinks and excursions not stated; upgrades; spending money; vaccinations or medical requirements; or any other cost not specifically listed as included.

Winner's responsibilities. The winner is responsible for ensuring that they and everyone travelling with them: hold valid passports and any required visas or entry permits with sufficient validity for the destination; meet all entry, health and vaccination requirements; and hold adequate travel insurance, including cover for overseas medical costs. Fair Game strongly recommends that travel insurance is arranged as soon as a booking is confirmed. We are not liable where any member of the travelling party is unable to travel, is refused boarding or entry, or is otherwise prevented from taking the trip.

Travellers and dates. All travellers must be named at the time of booking and names must exactly match their travel documents; names cannot usually be changed afterwards, and any provider charges for changes are the winner's responsibility. All travellers must be aged 18 or over unless accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over who is also part of the booking. Travel is subject to availability at the time of booking and to any dates, blackout periods or seasonal restrictions stated on the competition page. Where no specific dates are advertised, dates are chosen by agreement and subject to availability. The winner must book, or redeem their voucher, within 12 months of the draw date unless a different period is stated on the competition page; after that period the prize lapses and no alternative is payable.

Changes and cancellations. Holiday prizes are non-transferable and may not be sold, auctioned or passed to another person. Once a booking is made, any changes, cancellations or disruption — including those caused by weather, industrial action, epidemics, provider insolvency or other events outside our control — are governed by the travel provider's own terms, and remedies such as rebooking or refunds must be pursued with that provider. If the winner cancels or fails to travel, the prize is treated as fulfilled and no refund or alternative is payable. This does not affect your statutory rights, and Section 16 (Force Majeure) applies.

Section 09

Winners

Winners are notified by email within 24 hours of the draw. Winners must respond to Fair Game within 14 days of the notification email to claim their prize. Before treating any prize as unclaimed, we will make at least three contact attempts over the 14-day period using at least two different methods (for example email plus phone, or email plus a message from our official social media account, where you have provided those details), and we will keep a record of those attempts. Only after those attempts have failed may the prize be forfeited and a re-draw held among the remaining valid entries.

Winners may be required to provide the following before the prize is released:

  • Proof of identity (e.g. passport or driving licence)
  • Proof of age (where not already verified)
  • Proof of address
  • A signed declaration of eligibility and compliance with these terms

Winner publicity: If you win, Fair Game may publish your first name, last name initial, general location (county/city), and ticket number on the Fair Game website and social media channels. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in demonstrating that draws are genuine and prizes are really awarded — not on the basis of consent bundled into entry — and you have the right to object (see below and Section 15).

If a winner does not wish to be identified beyond their ticket number, they can tell us at hello@fairgamecompetitions.co.uk at any time before publication, and may object after publication — in which case we will remove the identifying details from our website and future posts. We will honour objections except where disclosure is required by law or a regulator. Fair Game will never publish a winner's full name, address, or contact details without explicit consent.

Winners may be invited to participate in promotional activity (photographs, video, social media posts). Such participation is entirely voluntary and will not affect receipt of a prize.

Withholding a prize. Fair Game reserves the right to withhold, withdraw, or decline to award a prize — or to reclaim a prize (or its cash equivalent) already awarded — where we have reasonable grounds to believe that:

  • The winning entry breaches these terms or the competition-specific rules, or the entrant does not meet the eligibility requirements in Section 2
  • The entrant provided false, incomplete, or misleading information at registration, entry, or verification
  • The entrant holds or has used more than one account, or entered on behalf of another person
  • The winner fails to respond to notification within 14 days, or fails to complete identity, age, or address verification when asked
  • The payment for the winning entry failed, was reversed, was charged back, or was made with funds the entrant was not authorised to use — any chargeback or payment reversal immediately voids the entries it paid for
  • The entry was obtained through fraud, automation, manipulation of the platform, or exploitation of a technical fault (including tickets issued in error outside a competition's advertised cap)
  • Withholding is required by law, a regulator, or our anti-money laundering obligations (Section 24)

Where an investigation is needed, we may withhold the prize for a reasonable period while it takes place. If the concern is resolved in the entrant's favour, the prize will be awarded promptly in full. If a prize is withheld or reclaimed under this section, we will conduct a redraw among the remaining valid entries, so the prize is still awarded. Decisions under this section will be made reasonably, based on evidence, and in line with Section 14 (Disqualification); they do not affect your statutory rights.

Section 10

Refunds & Cancellations

Ticket purchases are non-refundable once a ticket number has been confirmed and issued, except in the following circumstances:

  • A competition is cancelled by Fair Game before the draw takes place
  • A technical error results in a duplicate or incorrect ticket assignment
  • Payment was charged but no ticket number was issued
  • An entry is cancelled by Fair Game under the "Obvious errors" provision in Section 6

If a competition is cancelled by Fair Game, all ticket purchasers will receive a full refund within 10 working days. Refunds are made to your original payment source by default. If you would prefer the refund as wallet balance instead, ready to spend, just tell us — we do that only where you expressly choose it. Any amount paid with promotional site credit is returned as site credit.

To request a refund in eligible circumstances, contact hello@fairgamecompetitions.co.uk with your name, email address, order reference, and details of the issue.

Consumer Contracts: Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, distance contracts ordinarily carry a 14-day right to cancel. We consider competition entries fall within the exemption for leisure activities provided on a specific date (the advertised draw date). In addition, by completing your purchase you expressly request that we perform the service immediately — allocating your ticket numbers and entering them into the draw at the point of purchase — and you acknowledge that once your ticket numbers have been allocated the service has been fully performed and, in accordance with regulation 36 of those Regulations, any right to cancel that entry is lost. Nothing in this paragraph removes rights the law does not allow to be excluded — see Section 17.

Section 11

Responsible Play

Fair Game is committed to promoting responsible participation. The following tools are available to all registered users in My Account → Spending Controls:

  • Daily, weekly, and monthly spending limits — set a maximum amount you can spend in a rolling period
  • Time-out — take a short break (24 hours to 7 days) during which you cannot enter or top up
  • Self-exclusion — exclude yourself from the platform for a longer period, from 1 month to permanent
  • Account closure — permanently close your account at any time. On request we delete your personal data, except the minimal records we must keep by law (see Section 15) and a minimal identifying record kept specifically so that a self-exclusion can still be enforced if you try to re-register

Once a time-out or self-exclusion is activated, it cannot be reversed before the selected period expires. We take these requests seriously, honour them promptly, and suppress marketing to self-excluded accounts.

Changing your spending limits: a decrease to any spending limit takes effect immediately. An increase or removal of a limit takes effect only after a 24-hour cooling-off period, during which your previous, lower limit continues to apply.

If you are concerned about the amount you are spending on competitions, or if you feel your participation is becoming compulsive, we strongly encourage you to reach out for support:

Please play responsibly. Set a budget before you enter and only spend what you can comfortably afford. Competitions should be fun — if they stop being fun, please take a break.

Section 12

Charity Donations

Fair Game is committed to supporting small local Northern Ireland charities. We make regular donations from the business, at our discretion, to registered charities — and we publish every donation on the Fair Game website: the charity's name, its registered charity number, the amount, and the date.

These donations are made by FGCD Ltd from its own funds. They are not tied to individual ticket purchases, and no part of any entry fee is collected on behalf of, or held for, any charity.

Where we name a charity in connection with a specific competition or promotion, we do so with that charity's written agreement, and the relevant page will state exactly what that charity receives. Fair Game does not direct, control, or manage the charitable organisations it donates to. Donations are made in good faith. Fair Game is not itself a registered charity.

Section 13

Accounts & Security

You may hold only one account per person. Registering multiple accounts — whether under the same or different identities — is a breach of these terms and will result in the suspension or permanent closure of all associated accounts and the forfeiture of any prizes or entries. Suspected duplicate accounts may be investigated without prior notice.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your login details with anyone. You must:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information when registering and at all times thereafter
  • Keep your contact details (especially email address) up to date
  • Notify us immediately at hello@fairgamecompetitions.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access to your account

Fair Game reserves the right to suspend or permanently close an account where we have reasonable grounds to believe it is being used in breach of these terms, for fraudulent activity, or where continued use poses a risk to the integrity of any competition.

Section 14

Disqualification

Fair Game reserves the right to disqualify any entrant and void their entries (with or without prior notice) if we have reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has:

  • Registered or used more than one account
  • Provided false, misleading, or inaccurate information at any stage
  • Used automated software, bots, scripts, or any non-human method to enter
  • Used a VPN, proxy, or other technology for the purpose of disguising their location or identity to get around the eligibility requirements — ordinary use of privacy tools (for example iCloud Private Relay or a workplace VPN) by a genuinely eligible UK entrant is not, by itself, grounds for disqualification
  • Attempted to manipulate the draw, interfere with the platform, or gain an unfair advantage
  • Breached any part of these terms or any competition-specific rules
  • Behaved in an abusive, threatening, or inappropriate manner toward Fair Game staff
  • Engaged in money laundering, fraud, or any other criminal activity

Where a disqualified entrant has received a prize, Fair Game reserves the right to reclaim that prize or its cash equivalent. Disqualification decisions are made reasonably and based on evidence, consistently with Section 9. We will tell you the reason for a disqualification unless the law or a regulator prevents us. If you believe a decision is wrong, you can challenge it through the complaints process in Section 20 — nothing in this section affects your statutory rights or your right to take legal action.

Fair Game complies with UK anti-money laundering regulations and may be required to report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities. We screen entries against UK government financial sanctions lists. Entries from sanctioned individuals are void.

Section 15

Data Protection & Privacy

FGCD Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through the Fair Game platform. We are committed to processing your personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Personal data collected when you enter a competition or create an account includes your name, email address, date of birth, address, and (optionally) phone number. We use this data to:

  • Administer your entry and issue ticket numbers
  • Notify you of draw results
  • Verify eligibility and identity where required
  • Process payments (via our third-party payment processor Stripe)
  • Publish winner information in accordance with Section 9
  • Send you marketing communications if you have opted in
  • Comply with our legal obligations

Our lawful basis for processing competition entry data is performance of a contract (your entry into the competition). For publication of minimal winner details under Section 9, we rely on our legitimate interests in demonstrating draw integrity — you have the right to object. For retaining a minimal identifying record after account closure to enforce self-exclusion, we rely on our legitimate interests in protecting people who have asked to be excluded. Where we send you marketing communications, we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

We retain your competition entry records for a minimum of 12 months after each draw to allow for auditing and regulatory compliance. Account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter.

Your data will not be sold to third parties. For full details of how we handle your data, your rights (including the right to access, correct, erase, and port your data), and how to exercise those rights, please read our Privacy Policy.

Marketing opt-out: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send, or by emailing hello@fairgamecompetitions.co.uk. Opting out does not affect your competition entries.

Section 16

Force Majeure

Fair Game shall not be in breach of these terms, nor liable for any delay or failure to perform any obligation, where such delay or failure results from events, circumstances, or causes beyond our reasonable control. These include (but are not limited to):

  • Acts of God, flood, fire, earthquake, storm, or natural disaster
  • Epidemic or pandemic and related government measures
  • War, armed conflict, terrorism, riot, or civil commotion
  • Actions of government, regulatory bodies, or public authorities
  • Industrial disputes, strikes, or labour action not involving Fair Game staff
  • Failure of third-party infrastructure, telecommunications, or internet services
  • Failure of payment processing systems not within our control

In such circumstances, Fair Game will take all reasonable steps to minimise disruption, notify affected entrants by email as soon as practicable, and reschedule draws to the earliest viable date. All valid entries will remain valid for any rescheduled draw. If a competition cannot be rescheduled within a reasonable period, all ticket purchasers will receive a full refund.

Section 17

Consumer Rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including:

  • The Consumer Rights Act 2015 — services must be provided with reasonable care and skill
  • The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 — we will not engage in misleading or aggressive commercial practices
  • The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 — we will provide clear pre-contract information

Any term in this agreement that attempts to exclude or restrict a right that cannot be excluded or restricted under applicable consumer protection law shall be void to that extent. We will always treat you fairly and in accordance with our obligations under UK consumer law.

These terms shall be interpreted as if the applicable consumer protection laws were incorporated into them where required.

Section 18

Intellectual Property

All content on the Fair Game website — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, competition materials, and software — is owned by or licensed to FGCD Ltd and is protected by UK and international copyright law.

You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, republish, download, display, post, or transmit any content from the Fair Game website in any form or by any means without our prior written permission, except for your own personal, non-commercial use.

Nothing in these terms grants you any rights in the Fair Game brand, name, or logo. Unauthorised use of the Fair Game brand is prohibited.

Section 19

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Fair Game shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses or damages arising from your use of the platform or participation in any competition, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, or anticipated savings
  • Loss of goodwill or reputation
  • Loss or corruption of data
  • Losses caused by third-party systems including payment processors or delivery providers

Our total aggregate liability to you in respect of any claim arising out of or in connection with these terms shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to Fair Game in the 12 months preceding the claim. This cap does not apply to — and nothing in these terms limits or excludes — our obligation to award an advertised prize (or its stated cash alternative) to a verified winning entrant, or your right to enforce that obligation.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits Fair Game's liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law

Section 20

Section 21

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Where we make significant changes that affect your rights or obligations, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.

Where changes are minor (e.g. corrections, clarifications, or contact detail updates), we may update the terms without individual notification, but will always update the "Last updated" date.

Entries already made: the terms in force at the time you entered a competition continue to govern that entry and its draw — changes never apply retrospectively to competitions you have already entered.

Continued use of the Fair Game platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms for future entries. If you do not accept revised terms, you should close your account before they take effect.

Section 22

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Northern Ireland. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland, unless you are a consumer in which case you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the jurisdiction in which you reside.

Severability: if any provision of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision is severed and the rest of the terms continues in full force.

Third-party rights: these terms give rights only to you and FGCD Ltd — the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 does not apply.

Assignment: you may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours to a successor of the business, provided your rights are not reduced as a result.

No waiver: if we do not enforce a provision on one occasion, we may still enforce it later.

Section 23

Wallet & Site Credit

Your wallet. Fair Game offers an optional wallet so you can add funds once and enter multiple competitions quickly and simply. We never add card fees or surcharges to any payment. Money you add to your wallet remains yours until you spend it on entries. The wallet is not a bank account: balances earn no interest, are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, and may only be used on the Fair Game platform.

What the wallet is not. The wallet is a prepayment facility for competition entries on this website only. Balances can only ever be used to buy entries from Fair Game — they cannot be sent to another person, used to pay any third party, or spent anywhere other than fairgamecompetitions.co.uk. Unspent balances can, however, always be refunded back to your original payment source — see "Getting your money back" below. FGCD Ltd does not issue electronic money, does not provide payment services to third parties, does not hold funds on deposit, and does not carry on any activity requiring authorisation by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Limits. We apply maximum top-up and maximum balance limits to every wallet as part of our anti-money-laundering and responsible-play controls, and we may vary them. You can also set your own daily, weekly and monthly spending limits at any time (see Section 11).

Getting your money back. Wallet funds are intended to be spent on competition entries. If you have unspent wallet balance you would like returned, contact us at hello@fairgamecompetitions.co.uk and we will refund it to the original payment source, normally within 5 working days. We may ask you to verify your identity before releasing funds (see Section 24).

Site credit. We may from time to time award promotional site credit to your account — for example as a promotional award or an instant win prize (see Section 8). Site credit can be spent on competition entries exactly like money, but it is promotional: it has no cash value and cannot be withdrawn, transferred, or exchanged. Unused site credit lapses if you close or delete your account. If we close your account other than for breach of these terms, site credit that you won as a prize will be honoured — we will give you a reasonable opportunity to use it or, at our option, pay you its equivalent value.

If we reasonably believe a wallet or credit balance has been obtained through fraud, abuse of the scheme, or breach of these terms, we may withhold, adjust, or cancel it pending investigation.

Section 24

Anti-Money Laundering

Fair Game is committed to ensuring the platform is not used to launder money, finance crime, or disguise the source of funds. A designated senior person at FGCD Ltd is responsible for our anti-money laundering controls and for reporting concerns to the relevant authorities.

To meet this commitment, we:

  • Allow only one account per person, registered in your real name — anonymous or fictitious accounts are not permitted
  • Do not accept cash — funds may only be added through our approved payment methods
  • Accept payment only from a debit card or account held in the name of the registered account holder — third-party payments are not permitted and will be refunded to source
  • Apply maximum top-up and wallet balance limits to every account
  • Return refunds to the payment source the funds came from, in the account holder's own name
  • May require proof of identity, age, and address before processing refunds or releasing prizes
  • Monitor for unusual patterns — for example, large or repeated top-ups followed by refund requests with little or no competition entry — and may pause such transactions while we review them
  • Screen entries against UK financial sanctions lists, and report suspected money laundering or terrorist financing to the authorities as required by law
  • May suspend or close an account, without notice where the law requires it, if we discover false information was provided at registration or the account is being used for any unlawful purpose

Your confirmation. By adding funds to your account you confirm that the money is your own, that it comes from a lawful source, and that the payment method used belongs to you. Using the wallet solely to move money in and out without genuine participation in competitions is not permitted and will be treated as suspected abuse.
